I thought over the summer holidays I would introduce you to some of the classes I have on my timetable - and give you a free taster of each that you can use whenever you like!
Today is all about WalkFit - which is one of the newest additions to my timetable, having trialled it last summer
What exactly is a WalkFit workout?
It's basically marching to music - but you can get over 2000 steps in just one 15 minute workout!
If you have a smart watch you know that you get reminders to move every hour - a FitBit wants you to do 250 steps to clear that reminder.
During lockdown I found it almost impossible to do that around the house - I would have to do circuits, and not get distracted by little jobs to do on the way...
And it was boring
WalkFIt can help you move more during the day, but in a way that is fun, puts a smile on your face, and boosts your energy!
Simple and fun choreography - stimulating your brain as well as your body
Low impact - so easy on your joints
Who is WalkFit for?
The beauty of WalkFit is it's simplicity - making it perfect for beginners and those getting back to exercise after a break
It's also suitable for pregnancy and postnatal because there is no impact and no quick changes
But people join for a whole host of reasons:
- pensioners and desk workers looking to get more steps into their day
- regular walkers who've missed their steps because of the weather
- mums who can't get to the gym because of childcare issues
- keen exercisers looking to 'close the rings' on their smart watches
- those looking for an energy boost in the morning and a way to look after their mental wellbeing
I've had people join from their 30s to their almost 80s! And the over-riding comment they all say?
It's fun!!
Exercise that doesn't really feel like exercise
And even if it does - you're done in 15 minutes and can get on with your day, feeling virtuous!
This is what one of my regulars had to say:
"Walkfit is a unique and fun way to begin your day.
It sounds boring, walking in your own home for 15 minutes - this is far from the truth. It consists of walk, gentle aerobics and dance, all to music. Each day is different, steps, rhythms etc. so this keeps it fresh and engaging. It is a perfect introduction to exercise.
I have gained flexibility and increased energy levels since joining this group. Exercise with very little effort." Angela
Every routine is different but some of my favourites are the disco ones - never fails to put a smile on my face, so I hope you enjoy it too!
Let me know how you get on!

PS And if you'd like more, WalkFit is included in my full membership
But I also have a mini membership - for just £15 a month you get live Zoom WalkFit at 9am on weekday mornings during term time. You also get access to all the recordings via my membership site or on the Facebook page. This means you can do them at any time of the day, especially if you are an earlier riser than me!!
The membership also includes access to my FreeFlow mobility class - this is a 15 min class at 9:15 am on Tues and Thurs. We work on mobilising through the body - anywhere from neck and shoulders down to the feet! It's a great start to the day, easing any stiffness you may feel from sleeping. It also gives you ideas of things you can add in to your day as a little movement snack. Regular practice can increase your range of movement and ease aches and pains
As with all my memberships - no signing fee, no minimum term (cancel whenever you like) and no sneaky price increases for as long as you are a member!
